October Pickups
Lately I have been strapped for cash because of school aka not working as much at the shop…BUT I have been waiting for Haven x Reigning Champ Varsity Shawl Jacket since Dan & Arthur told about the collaboration back in spring. I’m happy to say that I have one of the only pieces in Edmonton because they sold most of them online from the 25 pieces produced. Thanks Dan for heads up & hook up! My other pickups include some Brixton beanies that I got from the shop for this cold ass weather we have now, a gift from Sammy (@miss_yeung) for getting me some Stussy/Original Fake stickers from her NYC trip last week, and Eric (@e_ cheng) dropped off some pro-type stickers for my blog. Now no more pickups…well until Christmas time haha

Starting this week, The Common will be open from Wednesdays – Saturdays. Yesterday was the first night for DJ $hortee & DJ Sonny Grimezz “Easy Does It Thursdays” which will be every Thursday at The Common from now on. Not only it was this, but there was also a Fashion show earlier on in the night AND it was Justin’s & Dani’s Bdays. Packed night as always with friends & family. Big up to our reps for stopping by!

The only thing I would usually look forward to in this month is Thanks Giving…BUT this year its different! Movies I have been patiently waiting for are releasing: “Where the Wild Things Are” & “Astro Boy”. Then Jay-Zs concert with openers of N.E.R.D., Wale, and J.Cole. If that was not enough, The Common will be doing another Gold Era Hip-Hop night…What more can I ask for?…well maybe a second helping of turkey & pie.
Thanks Giving Dinner : October 11
Jay – Z Concert at Rexall : October 13
Where The Wild Things Are : October 16
Astro Boy : October 23
Gold Era Hip-Hop 2 : October 30

Triumvir will be releasing their Autumn 09′ line on October 16th. For the time being they have shown two of their tees coming from this line-up. It seems that they are branching into more colour ways with their tees because their “Forum” & “No Means Yes” tees are coming in three different coloured tees. For you Triumvir buyers, remember that they are going for a skinner fit tee than their past seasons… so take that in consideration! Be sure to check out their site HERE to see more of their line to be shown.
“Forum” tee in Black, White, & Burgandy
“No Means Yes” tee in Silver, Black, & White
COMBO
I saw this on Nathan Matthews blog and I thought it deserves another post. Just a great creativity with Blu & David Ellis on this time lapse of their art.
ENJOY!
Lazy Sundays
This is usally the case…but 2day I was actually doing alot. First was work of course, then my friends and me did some glow in the dark bowling at Gateway bowling, and then watched Zombie Land (WHICH WAS AMAZING!). I do recomend watching Zombie Land if you want to LOL everywhere including in your pants.
Every time I see this kid… I want to PUNCH him!
Alleycat Racing
Alleycat Race: An Alleycat race is an informal bicycle race. Alleycats almost always take place in cities, and are often organized by bicycle messengers. The informality of the organization is matched by the emphasis on taking part, rather than simple competition. Many Alleycats present prizes for the last competitor to finish (sometimes known as Dead Fucking Last or DFL). The first race to be called “Alleycat” was held in Toronto on October 30, 1989 and continued, in its original form, around Halloween and Valentine’s Day for the following five years.
My boi Zack is throwing a party at The Common on October 17th that is everything & anything all about fix gears/bikes with a race, partying, and good music. The actual Alleycat Race will start around 4pm and lasts till when the first & last person shows up. There will be a $10 race registration BUT there will be prizes for all the racers. Come support the rising culture of fixed gear bikes in the city.

Super Street Fighter IV
That’s right you heard right.
Capcom annouced at the Tokyo Game Show 09′ that they will be releasing a new version of Street Fighter IV with SUPER Street Fighter IV and today they released the information to the world. Instead of just doing a DLC, Capcom decided to just release another disc because the changes are so drastic with the balance of the new/old characters…don’t worry they won’t mark it full price when released. For you people that have an original copy of SFIV like me, they promised us a “special” treat for us. The new additions are eight more characters to the current 25 characters, the balancing of the all the characters, better online play… HOPEFULLY more than 1 ultras/supers as well. T-Hawk, Deejay, & Juri are the first of the eight characters to be confirmed on the new roster list. The online will be updated with a lobby system and will hopefully be able to do an online tournament. SSFIV is set to be released in Spring 2010 and be sure to see Capcom to keep releasing characters names and additions.
